Day 1 : Arrival Kolkata
Arrive at Kolkatta International Airport. Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, a TCI representative will meet, as you exit the terminal building and will transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2 :    Kolkata – Patna (By flight)
Morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Airport to catch your flight to Patna. On arrival you will met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon visit Kumrahar. Kumrahar is the remains of an ancient city of Pataliputra, located 5 km from Patna. The archaeological remains of the Mauryan period (322–185 BCE), has been discovered here, this include the ruins of a hypostyle 80-pillared hall. The excavation finding here dates back to 600 B.C and marks the ancient capital of Ajatshatru, Chandragupta and Ashoka.Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 3 :    Patna- Rajgir- Nalanda- Bodhgaya
Morning after breakfast at hotel drive to Bodhgaya, enroute visit of Nalanada and Rajgir. Nalanda: The archaeological site of Nalanda is located 95 kms south- east of Patna. History of Nalanda goes back to the days of Mahavira and Buddha in the 6th Century B.C. It was the place of birth and nirvana of Sariputta, one of the most famous disciples of Buddha. But the place rose into prominence in 5th Century A.D. as a great monastic-cum-educational institution for oriental art and learning in the whole Buddhist world attracting students from distant countries including Hiuen Tsiang and I-Tsing from China. Various subjects like theology, grammar, logic, astronomy, metaphysics and philosophy were taught here. Nalanda Mahavihara, regarded as one of the greatest universities of ancient world, was founded by Kumaragupta I (413-455 A.D.) of the great Gupta dynasty. King Harshavardhana of Kannauj (606-647A.D.) and the Pala kings of east India (8th-12th Century A.D.) continued to extend patronage to this centre. On arrival at Nalanda visit The Ruins of Nalanda are spread over 14 hectares of land. Among the ruins can be seen many Buddhist structures including stupas, chaityas, temples and monasteries. The dormitories of the students indicate the residential status of the university. Stupa of Sariputta, This is one of the most noticeable structures among the ruins. Sariputta was one of the most prominent disciples of Buddha and became a celebrated Arhat, believed to have attained salvation. Hiuen Tsang Memorial Hall, this hall is believed to have been erected in memory of the famous Chinese scholar who reportedly stayed here for 12 years as part of his tour of India in the 7th century AD. Surya Temple, this temple is dedicated to the Sun God, greatly revered since the Vedic ages in India. Later visit Nalanda Museum (remains closed on Friday) this museum exhibits a large number of artifacts that include manuscripts, seals, and statues. After visit of Nalanda drive to Rajgir (12 Kms) from Nalanda is famous for its hot water springs, locally known as Brahmakund, a sacred place for Hindus. Another major attraction is the peace pagoda, Vishwa Shanti Stupa, built in 1969, one of the 80 peace pagodas in the world, to spread the message of peace and non-violence.Historically, Rajgir has been a very important place, as capital to many empires. Main tourist attractions are the Bimbisar's Jail, the Ajatshatru's Fort, and the Jarasandh's Akhara. Arrive Bodhgaya and check in at hotel.Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 4 :    Bodhgaya
Morning after breakfast visit include Mahabodhi Temple, contains the Mahabodhi Temple with the diamond throne (called the Vajrasana) and the holy Bodhi tree. It is believed that 250 years after the Enlightenment of the Buddha, Emperor Asoka visited Bodh Gaya. He is considered to be the founder of the original Mahabodhi temple. Several Buddhist temples and monasteries have been built by the people of Bhutan, China, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sikkim, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet and Vietnam in a wide area around the Mahabodhi Temple. These buildings reflect the architectural style, exterior and interior decoration of their respective countries. Later visit Archaeological Museum (remains closed on Friday), The museum consists of two galleries and an open courtyard as well as two verandahs displaying the antiquities. The museum exhibits bronze and stone sculptures of Buddhist and Brahmanical faith of pala period, scenes related to Buddhist pantheon, Surya, Zodiac signs on railings of Sunga age, etc.Overnight stay at the hotel
Day 5 :    Bodhgaya- Varanasi
Morning after breakfast you will be driven to Varanasi, enroute visit Shershah Suri's Tomb at Sasaram. Sasaram, is a small town on the Grand Trunk Road. Sher Shah Suri is truly regarded as one of the brilliant national heroes of India. Apart from a brave, intelligent and tactful military genius with shrewd political foresight, Sher Shah (original name Farid Khan) was a person of extra ordinary skill and ability in civil administration also. Sher Shah restored the old imperial road called the ‘Grant Trunk Road’ running from Calcutta to Peshawar. Further, he introduced the currency called rupiyah and organized a systematic postal service. But his most outstanding contribution to the field of architecture is the construction of his own tomb at Sasaram, Bihar which combines soberness with elegance. The tomb is regarded as one of the noblest specimens of Afghan architecture in India. The interior of the tomb is sufficiently well ventilated and lighted through large windows on the top portion of the walls. Continue your drive to Varanasi also commonly known as Benares city is situated on the banks of the River Ganges. It is regarded as a holy city by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the oldest in India. The culture of Varanasi is closely associated with the River Ganges and the river's religious importance. The city has been a cultural and religious centre in North India for several thousand years. The Benares Gharana form of the Indian classical music developed in Varanasi, and many prominent Indian philosophers, poets, writers, and musicians resided or reside in Varanasi. Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath located near Varanasi. People often refer to Varanasi as "the city of temples", "the holy city of India", "the religious capital of India", "the city of lights", "the city of learning", and "the oldest living city on planet earth." Day 6 :    In Varanasi
Early morning you will experience the boat ride on the holy river Ganges. To see the ritual bathing and cremation is worth the effort of waking up before sunrise - a direct contact with life on the banks of the Holy Ganges. Hindu pilgrims come to bath in the sacred Ganges, facing the rising sun, or at dusk, when leaf-boat lamps float down the river. Walk through the streets on way back from the morning boat ride. You will also visit the Viswanath Temple from outside (Non hindus are not allowed inside) and return for breakfast at hotel. After breakfast, visit Varanasi City: The consists of visiting the city temples – the durga temple, better known as the Monkey temple on account of the large number of monkeys residing there and the temple of Vishwanath (or Vesheshwar "Lord of the Universe") are the most sacred spots in the city. Visit will also include Bharat Mata or Mother India Temple and the Benares Hindu University. In the afternoon proceed for the excursion to Sarnath. Sarnath,10 kms from the centre of the city, Sarnath symbolises the birth of Buddhism. It was here that Lord Buddha revealed his doctrine and founded his monastic community. The Museum (remains closed on Friday) at Sarnath is amongst the most important in India and contains carvings representing a whole range of styles - Archaic, the covering work of sculptors from 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century A.D.Evening witness Aarti ceremony on the Ghats. Day 7 :    Varanasi – Kushinagar
Breakfast at hotel and drive for Kushinagar (265Kms) – where Lord Buddha freed himself from the cycle of birth and death. Enroute visit Vaishali - the ancient capital city of the Licchavi, one of world’s first democratic republics in the vajjian Confederacy around the 6th century BC. At the time of Lord Buddha visit this city was very large, rich and prosperous and dotted with a lots of Lotus Ponds. Afternoon arrive Kushinagara and check into Hotel. After fresh up explore the historical city which the lord Buddha choose to get his Nirvana. Many of the ruined Stupa and Vihara date back to 3rd Centaury BCE to -05Centuary CE. The Mauryan Emperor Ashoka had added much construction to this site. Visit the Nirvana Temple & other Vihara. Overnight stay at hotel
Day 8 :    Kushinagar
Breakfast at hotel and full day sightseeing and overnight stay at Kushinagar.
Day 9 :    Kushinagar –Lumbini
Post breakfast at hotel drive for Lumbini located in the foothills of the Himalaya, 25km east of the municipality of Kapilvastu where the Buddha is said to have lived till the age of 29. It is a place where queen Mayadevi is said to have given birth to Siddhartha Gautam. Afternoon arrive and check into Hotel. After fresh up visit Bodhi Tree and pond, Lumbini Garden, Chinese Maitreya Temple. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10 :    Lumbini
Breakfast at hotel and full day sightseeing and overnight stay at Lumbini.
Day 11 :    Lumbini- Saravasti
Breakfast at hotel drive for Sravasti – one of the ancient city of the ancient India. It is located on the banks of the river Rapti. It was the capital of the kingdom of Kosala. Lord Buddha had visited this beautiful city many times and also spent many rainy seasons. Afternoon arrive and check into Hotel. After fresh up Visit Jetavana Monastry, Buddha’s hut in Jetavana and many monasteries. Overnight at Hotel
Day 12 :    Saravasti – Lucknow
fly to Delhi check in hotel overnight stay. After breakfast leave from Saravasti and drive to lucknow catch flight for Delhi Arrival at Delhi and overnight stay.
Day 13 :    Delhi – Full day City tour
After breakfast at hotel explore the capital city of India and visit India Gate (War memorial), President's house, Parliament house and Secretariat building. Also visit Raj ghat and Shanti Vana the Cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru followed by Jama Masjid and drive past Red fort (Red fort is closed on every Monday) and Qutab Minar. Overnight at the hotel
Day 14 :    Delhi – Kolkata Departure transfer to Airport
After breakfast transfer to Delhi International Airport to board the flight for your onward journey. Tour ends with happy memories.
