Day 1 : Arrival in Auckland

On your arrival at the Auckland Airport, after clearing immigration, you will be met by our local Joy Travels representative, who will escort you to your hotel. You may have some time for leisure. If time permits, you may like to visit Auckland’s iconic landmark, the 328-m Sky Tower, its’ tallest building here, from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire city. If you wish, you can go for a stroll to the city’s Viaduct Harbour, which has many bars and restaurants, and spend the rest of the evening by seeing the splendid yachts berthed there. Overnight at hotel in Auckland.

Day 2 : Auckland-Rotorua via Waitomo

Following breakfast, you will be taken for a guided tour to Waitomo Caves via Waikato. The Waitomo limestone caves are famous for their stalactites and the thousands of shimmering glow worms that illuminate these caves. After this, you will be travelling through the rugged hills of the Mamaku Ranges, which have an extensive forest cover, to the amazing thermal “wonderland” known as Rotorua that rests on Lake Rotorua. Day 3 : Rotorua

After breakfast, you will be escorted to see the rich farmland of Agrodome agricultural park, and see the animals perform in a “Farm Show”, and the world-famed merino sheep. There’s a Woollen Mill and Shearing Museum, giving the history of the pioneers who came here; besides there are souvenirs you can buy, a café and a restaurant. Following this, you will be proceeding to New Zealand’s renowned Maori thermal village of Te Puia, which has spectacular geysers, mud-holes and vents churning steam. You will also be able to watch Maori craftsmen at work, weaving and carving. Your next halt will be at the Rainbow Springs Nature Park, beautifully-landscaped, with sculptured ponds, blossoming gardens, Kiwi birds and other fauna. You can relax when you return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight at hotel in Rotorua.

Day 4 : Rotorua-Queenstown

Post-breakfast, you will be going to the Rotorua airport to catch your flight to Queenstown (flight not included). On arriving at this scenic resort, renowned all over the world for its adventure sports, you will be transferred to a hotel. You will have the evening for your leisure. You may like to go for a stroll to see the surrounding spectacular mountains – the Remarkables, Cecil Peak and Walter Peak, besides Queenstown Bay. A Bike Festival takes place here during March/April. Overnight at hotel in Queenstown.

Day 5 : Queenstown-Milford Sound Cruise

Following breakfast, you will be going on another unforgettable cruise to the World Heritage Site of Milford Sound and Mitre Peak. A nature guide will lead you to experience the beauty of Milford Sound’s thick forests, rich wildlife, cascading waterfalls, and icy waters, together with the iconic mountain of Mitre Peak, which is one of the most photographed mountains in the country. You will be returning to your hotel in the evening and may have some time to relax. Overnight at hotel in Queenstown.

Day 6 : Queenstown

After breakfast, you may go sightseeing or indulge in one of the thrilling sport activities (at your own cost) in the city. There are several activities for the adventurers, such as: jet-boarding, river-surfing, kite-surfing, paragliding, hang-gliding, skydiving, or visit the Ledge Sky Swing to swing 400-m above the city. Overnight at hotel in Queenstown.

Day 7 : Queenstown-Mt Cook-Christchurch

Post-breakfast, you will be leaving Queenstown for Christchurch, passing through Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park. You will be seeing Lake Pukaki, the largest of the alpine lakes in South Island, in the Canterbury region. You can go for a boat-ride, horse-riding, fishing, or trekking at the Mt Cook National Park Village. The National Park is a huge alpine park with 19 tall peaks, the highest being Mt Cook. Two-fifths of the Park is covered by glaciers and the largest glacier – Tasman Glacier – can be clearly seen from the entrance to the Park. There’s no forest cover but over 300 species of alpine plants, and the world’s largest buttercup – Mt Cook Lily. Nearly 40 species of birds live here, including the alpine bird – rock wren, one of the country’s rarest birds – black stilt, besides the jewelled gecko. On descending, you will be re-crossing the Canterbury Plains and reach Christchurch in the evening. Overnight at hotel in Christchurch.

Day 8 : Departure from Christchurch

Following breakfast, you will be checking-out of your hotel and get transferred to the Christchurch airport to board the flight for your onward destination.
