South India Tour Package

If  North India is lush with evergreen mountains, cloud-covered hills and blooming meadows, South India is rich with eye-catching temples, with colourful and beautifully-sculpted statues of the deities adorning them.  There are thick forests and hilly regions even in the south, though these differ from the pine and coniferous trees of the north.

The southern part of the country is bound on three sides by water; the Arabian Sea lies on its west, the Bay of Bengal is on its east while to the south lies the mighty Indian Ocean.  It also has two rivers along its northern boundary, the Narmada and Mahanadi, with the Vindhya ranges standing guard.

With a distinctive cultural identity of its own, rich in music, dance and folklore, besides numerous traditions that vary in its different states - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa and Tamil Nadu - it's every bit as vibrant as the north, but in its strikingly individualistic way.

We, at Joy Travels, have many different South India Tour Packages to offer you to get acquainted with this special region of India, but if you have other plans, we'll help you to devise your own tour.

Our South India Tour Packages include beach holidays, temple tours and simply sightseeing.  Kerala with its labyrinthine canals and coconut groves is famous for its beaches, especially Kovalam; and Chennai's Marina Beach in Tamil Nadu is one of the top favourites with tourists.  Karnataka is architecturally grand, as is Andhra Pradesh.  Karnataka also has the picturesque hill resort of Ooty, with a salubrious climate in various cities in the state.

Temple halts in the South India Tour Package include the world-renowned Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh; Tamil Nadu's impressive, ancient temples at Kancheepuram and Thanjavur; and Kanyakumari, at the southern-most tip of the country, which can be reached only by boat and where the sunrise is an out-of-the-world experience, as the sun seems to rise straight out of the water.

South India with its myriad hues, the home of Bharatnatyam-Kathakali-Mohiniattam-Carnatic sangeet, the blue Nilgiri hills with their coffee and tea plantations and gently sloping hills, vast coastline and innumerable beaches, rejuvenating spas, ayurvedic remedies, its rich treasures in silk,  will fascinate and engage you with its manifold charms.
