Discovered and made popular by the British, picturesque Mussoorie, named after a tree of the same name, offers a captivating view of the snowbound Himalayas. Pleasant throughout the year, Mussoorie is very cold in the winter. The average temperatures range from 31o-7oC [maximum] and 7o-1oC [minimum]. April-June is the summer season, with September-February being the winter season. Light woollens are a must throughout, but heavy woollens are required in the winter, which brings snowfall to delight you.

The ropeway ride to Mussoorie’s famous Gun Hill with its commanding view of the Himalayas tempts most tourists. The beautiful Municipal [Company] Gardens boast of an artificial lake. Kempty Falls, the prettiest and largest waterfall in the hill station are a must-see; while the Jharipani Falls and Bhatta Falls, located in different directions, though approachable by bus or car, also involve a little trekking amongst the pretty hills, making it adventurous and the visit all the more memorable.

Lal Tibba is the highest point; Camel’s Back Road is known for its serenity and pure oxygen to walk through; the Mall has eateries and shops, all making for a fun-filled stay.
