| Las Vegas is unique among U.S. cities. Las Vegas since the late 1980s has acquired another identity as a center for business, finance, transportation, and services; still the "Entertainment Capital of the World," it has actively and successfully cultivated a diversified economy. The Las Vegas resident can enjoy legalized gaming, yet more often will take advantage of the diverse range of cultural and recreational opportunities offered in the city and in the surrounding area. HE GARDENS AT THE Las Vegas SPRINGS PRESERVE - This garden was earlier called the Desert Demonstration Gardens as 8 acres are desert botanical gardens. The entry is free of cost here. These gardens contain over 300 species of desert- compatible plants. This garden is referred to as a site of natural oasis. RED ROCKS NATIONAL PARK - This national park is located 15 miles west of downtown. THE GRAND CANYON - This magnificient natural wonder of the world is located in North Arizona. Every day there are numerous bustours, helicopter tours and airplane trips departing from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon. Las Vegas has become a modern mecca for shopping. From the multitude of tiny and large souvenier shops stretching from downtown to the strip (which we won't even begin to list here as you'll have no trouble finding them on your own), to the numerous plazas, shopping malls, antique shops and specialty stores across town. |
